A journey of over a year towards simplicity

A little over a year ago, BEN B began an exciting journey that raised questions about the length of time required for a seemingly modest collection. However, this timing was fully justified for us, because we had already acquired considerable expertise in launching projects for renowned international brands, whether in the field of cosmetics or food, before creating BEN B.

1. The Choice to Create Our Own Collection

Why did we opt to create our own collection, you may ask? The answer is simple: we wanted to maintain full control and ensure complete transparency at every stage of our product development, from design to manufacturing.

2. Two Possible Paths: Resell or Design

We had two options:

    • Resell an existing product and personalize it: This approach involves choosing from a supplier's products and adding our personal touch, such as a design printed on the textile.
    • Design our own product from A to Z: This is the choice we made at BEN B, but it required going through several crucial steps, which took more time. We have made it a point of honor to control all stages of the process, which allows transparency across the entire chain.

3. The BEN B team: Experts and Challenges

We had expertise in supply chain management and communications. One of the first steps was to surround ourselves with specialists such as stylists, model makers and model mechanics. These three roles proved crucial, but finding the right people was not without challenges. We even faced a prototype theft by one of our partners, which slowed down our launch schedule.

4. The Crucial Step of Gradation

A crucial step occupied us for many months: gradation. Based on an industrialized and validated standard size, the grada tion allows you to create all the sizes in our catalog, whether larger or smaller. The complexity lay in the variety of children's morphologies, whatever their age.

5. The Ideal Manufacturing Partner

At the same time, we worked on the sourcing of materials, quantity negotiations and the search for the ideal manufacturing partner in Morocco. This partner had to meet essential criteria, including a human scale, total transparency and quality staff training. In addition, we have chosen to source our raw materials locally to minimize our environmental impact. This process required several trips and industrialization tests to validate the model to be launched into production.

6. The Right Balance for a Minimalist Model

Continuing our minimalist model with smaller orders was a challenge: negotiating raw material minimums, limiting stocks of finished products by offering so-called “drop” sales in limited quantities. However, we believe that this is perhaps the key to our sustainability: seeking to do the best while knowing how to justify it.
Our philosophy: Simplicity, Quality, Durability.

Join us on our journey towards minimalist and ethical fashion for future adults!
